India’s first Individual Olympic Gold Medalist and Founder

Abhinav Bindra is an Indian Entrepreneur that begun his career as an athlete in the sport of Shooting (10m Air Rifle). Born in Dehradun, he has won over 150 medals in a career that lasted over twenty years and 5 Olympic Games. For his landmark Gold Medal in Beijing 2008, Mr. Bindra was conferred with India’s 3rd highest civilian award, The Padma Bhushan, in 2009. He was also awarded with the Blue Cross in 2018 by the International Shooting Sport Federation, the ISSF’s highest honour. Through the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, he has sought to bring Global Best Practice to the Indian Sporting Ecosystem, through Sport Science, Mental Wellness, and High-Performance Sport. The Foundation has been able to impact over 5000 Stakeholders in the Ecosystem, and more importantly, helped begin conversation about the topics on a large scale. He is also the Vice-Chairman of Abhinav Futuristics, and a Director for Bajaj Auto. Mr. Bindra chaired the ISSF Athletes Committee for 8 years and is currently a member of the International Olympic Committee’s Athlete Commission. In this position, he has spent considerable time promoting Athlete Mental Health, and contributing to policy that helps create a robust Addressal System through the Global Olympic Frameworks.
