Alessandro Benetton is one of the pioneers of Private Equity in Italy. After graduating with honours from Boston University and completing an MBA at Harvard, he founded 21 Invest in 1992. From 1988 to 1998, Alessandro was Chairman of Benetton Formula. The years of his chairmanship were marked by huge victories in Formula 1 (26 out of 27 total), the two world titles won with Michael Schumacher in 1994 and 1995, and the constructors’ championship won in 1996, and the collaboration with great drivers, which in addition to Michael Schumacher include Nelson Piquet, Jean Alesi, Riccardo Patrese and Alessandro Nannini. Since 2017, he is the President of the foundation organizing the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2021, a place that feels like home because of his passion for the mountains and for skiing. He is an amateur athlete, federal ski instructor of the Italian winter sports federation and a qualified ski and kitesurf instructor.
