Sport for Development: from Charity to Social Business

Description
The sport for development sector is made up of tens of thousands of organisations using sport as a way to contribute to one or several UN’s SDGs. These organisations play a key role in the socio-economic development of the most disadvantaged communities around the world. However, due to their reliance on donations or grants, these organisations miss key opportunities to scale their impact.
Building off 40 years of experiences of the Yunus ecosystem in creating social businesses, Yunus Sports Hub decided to create PITCH, an open source capacity-building platform to support all sport for development NGOs on 5 continents to create revenue generating activities and thus build a more stable business model so that they can rely less on donations and grants.
