eco-adventurer

Bio

Born in 1994, Matthieu studied international business at the University of Loughborough For several years, he has been combining his environmental commitment with his thirst for adventure and his spirit of the collective. In 2017, he set off with his cousin on a bike trip around the world and travelled 18,000 km through 17 countries to discover local solutions to plastic waste. On his return, he joined the company Circul'R specialized in circular economy. At the same time, he made a new challenge in October 2019: crossing the Strait of Gibraltar by swimming to raise awareness about plastic pollution in the Mediterranean. In May 2021, in order to challenge the French and encourage them to change their behaviour by throwing their butts in the trash, with 3 other young people, he made the 1st descent of the Seine by swimming in relay to retrace the route of cigarette butts thrown on the ground in the city. On the morning of departure, they had organized a cigarette butts collection in Paris. The world record had been broken with more than 850,000 cigarette butts collected in 3 hours. In November 2021, he accomplished the feat of swimming across Lake Titicaca in total autonomy alongside Théo Curin and Malia Metella.
